Korean automaker Hyundai launched the new-generation Kona Hybrid in the Philippines on 20/6, marking its debut in Southeast Asia. While the Philippines receives the Kona Hybrid, Indonesia will get the fully electric version.
The new-generation Kona Hybrid offers two versions: the 1.6 HEV Premium 6DCT and the 1.6 HEV GLS 6DCT, priced at 29,500 USD and 26,700 USD, respectively. In the Philippines, the vehicle competes with the Honda HR-V Hybrid and Toyota Yaris Cross HEV.

The Kona Hybrid boasts a 1.6 hybrid powertrain producing 139 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. It uses a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission and front-wheel drive.
The Kona Hybrid measures 4,350 mm long, 1,825 mm wide, and 1,585 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,660 mm. These dimensions are slightly larger than the gasoline-powered Kona, which measures 4,165 mm long, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,565 mm tall, with a 2,600 mm wheelbase.
Standard features on the Kona Hybrid include full-width LED headlights and daytime running lights, as well as LED taillights. Other features include a power liftgate, panoramic sunroof, MacPherson front suspension, and multi-link rear suspension. 18-inch wheels are exclusive to the Premium version.
The technology-filled interior features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Other amenities include dual-zone automatic climate control, a 6-speaker audio system, leather seats, a power-adjustable driver's seat, a manually adjustable passenger seat, and 60:40 split-folding rear seats. Wireless charging and steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters are also included.
The new-generation Kona Hybrid is equipped with Hyundai SmartSense, a suite of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). These include blind-spot collision-avoidance assist, front collision avoidance, blind-spot view monitor, rear cross-traffic alert, and lane-keeping assist.
