Hyundai launches Pokemon interface to attract customers

Hyundai is selling Pokemon-themed interface packages for digital screen systems on some car models in South Korea, priced at 21 USD.

Hyundai, in collaboration with Pokemon Korea, has developed two unique interface packages: "Pokemon Pikachu Quick Attack" and "Pokemon Ditto World". These themes are designed for in-cabin displays that utilize Hyundai's latest infotainment system.

More than just a wallpaper change, these packages transform the entire look of the 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and central infotainment screen. The Pokemon style extends to menu icons, navigation maps, and even the welcome animation upon starting the car.

The "Pikachu Quick Attack" theme places the iconic yellow electric mouse at the center of the display. It features customizable welcome and farewell transition effects that activate when the driver enters or exits the vehicle.

For a softer aesthetic, the "Pokemon Ditto World" theme incorporates the shapeshifting Pokemon's signature purple tones. This theme also includes other familiar characters such as: Pikachu, Charmander, Squirtle, Bulbasaur, Snorlax, Meowth, and Spheal.

Both Pokemon themes are exclusively available in the South Korean market. Customers can purchase them through the BlueLink app or a Hyundai store for approximately 21 USD each. Once purchased, users can activate or deactivate the Pokemon interface via custom settings, with the theme linked to the vehicle owner's account.

Currently, the system is compatible with several Hyundai models, including the Staria, Sonata, Palisade, Nexo, Ioniq 6, and Ioniq 9. Hyundai anticipates expanding compatibility to additional models in the future.

Hyundai has not yet announced plans to release these Pokemon interfaces in Europe or North America. However, an international rollout could occur in the future if licensing agreements are expanded.
