The original Hyundai Stargazer MPV launched in 2022, followed by the crossover-styled Stargazer X in 2023. This year's updated versions, Cartenz and Cartenz X, take their names from Indonesia's highest peak.
The most significant change in this mid-cycle refresh is at the front. The hood is longer, with two prominent character lines. A distinctive H-shaped LED daytime running light spans from the headlights to the rear.
The new design eliminates the single LED bar of the previous version. The main headlight clusters now sit above the daytime running lights, replacing the previous split-headlamp setup. The grille is considerably larger, especially on the Cartenz X, and now integrates with a more substantial bumper.

The Cartenz X also features shift-by-wire technology, eliminating the traditional gear lever and freeing up space on the center console.
From the side, the familiar silhouette remains, though the Cartenz X gains ruggedness with plastic cladding around the wheel arches and higher roof rails. The rear bumper is redesigned, integrating the license plate, which was previously mounted on the tailgate. The LED taillights are slimmer.
The Stargazer Cartenz measures 4,575 mm in length, while the Cartenz X is slightly longer at 4,610 mm. This represents an increase of 115 mm over the previous versions. Despite the added length, the wheelbase remains at 2,780 mm, and ground clearance stays at 205 mm.
The color palette includes pearl white, pearl black, metallic silver, and metallic gray, with metallic gold and metallic white exclusive to the Stargazer Cartenz X. Wheels are 16 or 17 inches, depending on the trim.
The cabin benefits from a more cohesive digital layout. The dashboard has been redesigned, and the air conditioning controls updated for improved usability. The Cartenz X also features shift-by-wire technology, removing the traditional gear lever and creating more space on the center console.
The MPV offers standard 7-passenger seating across three rows, with the option of captain's chairs for a 6-seat configuration. The interior is primarily black, with a beige option available for the highest trim. Standard features include a power-adjustable and ventilated driver's seat, wireless charging, integrated navigation, a Bose sound system, smart cruise control with Stop & Go, and blind spot monitoring.
Beyond the visual changes, the Stargazer's mechanical specifications are unchanged. Both models continue to use a naturally aspirated 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder gasoline engine producing 113 horsepower and 144 Nm of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels through either a 6-speed manual or a CVT.
The platform is a stretched version shared with the Kia Carens and Carens Clavis, as well as the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
Hyundai has confirmed that the updated Stargazer will be exported from Indonesia to several international markets, with adjustments made based on regional preferences. The previous version was exported to markets like the Middle East, the Philippines, Thailand, Brunei, and Vietnam.
Customers in Indonesia can now order the vehicles, with prices starting at 269.9 million rupiah (16,600 USD) for the Stargazer Cartenz and 350.4 million rupiah (21,500 USD) for the Stargazer Cartenz. The Cartenz X is priced slightly higher, ranging from 361.9-391.9 million rupiah (22,200-24,100 USD).
In Vietnam, the Hyundai Stargazer is currently available in three versions: the standard version with a suggested retail price starting at 489 million VND, the X version from 559 million VND, and the high-end X version from 599 million VND.
