Kia's popular SUV, the Seltos, is poised for a generational leap, possibly incorporating a new hybrid powertrain option. Building on the success of its existing 1.4, 1.5, 1.6, and 2.0-liter engine versions, the next-generation Seltos is expected to improve both performance and fuel efficiency with a 1.6-liter hybrid system already featured in the larger Sportage and Sorento models.
The Seltos's current appeal extends beyond its powertrains. It boasts a more spacious interior than many competitors in its segment, along with high-end options like ventilated seats, a heads-up display (HUD), and a Bose sound system. The potential addition of all-wheel drive is anticipated to further enhance its value proposition and market competitiveness.

The compact SUV is also predicted to undergo significant design changes. Some Korean automotive publications have even described the redesign as a "complete transformation." Spy photos of the new Seltos reveal a heavily camouflaged exterior, yet changes are evident in some design details and lighting arrangements.
The front end features three vertically positioned LED daytime running lights and squared-off headlights. It appears that Seltos is shedding its current urban image and embracing a more rugged, masculine style.
The large grille and boxy shape with straight lines are expected to create a familiar look, reminiscent of the next-generation Telluride.
The rear also shows significant changes. The taillights have a distinctive Starmap lighting graphic reminiscent of Kia's EV5 electric vehicle, along with lower, diagonal turn signals.
The interior is also notably different from the current Seltos. Kia's latest design elements, such as a 12.3-inch screen, a column-type gear selector, and a touch-sensitive center console, could be incorporated.
Initially, the new-generation Seltos was slated for release in the latter half of 2025, but some analysts believe the official launch has been postponed to the first half of 2026.
In Vietnam, the Kia Seltos currently offers a total of 7 versions, all with a 1.5-liter engine. The standard 1.5 AT starts at 599 million VND, while the top-of-the-line 1.5 Turbo GT Line has a suggested retail price of 799 million VND.
