A private enterprise in Ho Chi Minh City has introduced the Malaysian-made Honda Vario 125 to the market. Previously, Vario scooters were mainly imported from Thailand or Indonesia through private distributors. By the end of 2023, Honda Vietnam began officially distributing the model, imported from Indonesia.

The Malaysian Honda Vario shares a similar design and features with the officially distributed version in Vietnam. It boasts full LED lighting, a smart key, a TFT display, and a USB charging port (located under the left handlebar).
The scooter measures 1,918 mm in length, 679 mm in width, and 1,066 mm in height. It weighs 112 kg, 1 kg lighter than the official version.
The Malaysian Honda Vario features 14-inch alloy wheels on both tires, a front disc brake, and a rear drum brake. It does not include ABS.
The Malaysian-made Honda Vario is equipped with a 125cc, liquid-cooled, SOHC engine, producing 11.5 horsepower. This is slightly more powerful than the officially distributed version (10.9 horsepower). Similarly, the privately imported Vario has a torque of 11.7 Nm, compared to 10.79 Nm for the official version. These figures are achieved at the same RPM for both versions.
The Honda Vario uses a CVT transmission. Its price is around 60 million VND, significantly higher than the officially distributed version (40.7-41.3 million VND).
