Man tears apart newly built road in India to expose poor quality

A man in Nanded, Maharashtra, India, tore apart a newly built road with his bare hands to highlight its substandard quality.

The road, located between Dugaon in Nashik district and Dongargaon in Pune district, Maharashtra, was recently completed. Shortly after its inauguration, numerous potholes appeared.

Locals expressed concerns about the road's quality, alleging that insufficient asphalt was used and the foundation wasn't properly prepared. The man who tore apart the road aimed to hold the contractor accountable.

This isn't the first time such a video has surfaced on social media. In 2023, residents of Jalna district, also in Maharashtra, peeled back the top layer of a new road with their bare hands, revealing a fabric lining underneath.

In another incident, a concrete slab of an overpass on the Samruddhi Expressway collapsed just three days after its inauguration, exposing the steel reinforcement. The 701 km expressway cost approximately 6.4 million USD.
