Maserati to launch electric vehicle in Vietnam

The all-electric Grecale Folgore, boasting a 501 km range, a 550-horsepower motor, and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 4.1 seconds, is expected to go on sale in quarter III.

Maserati is the latest luxury car brand to join the electric vehicle segment in Vietnam. The marque's first electric model is the Maserati Grecale Folgore, the all-electric variant of the compact CUV Grecale, which has been available since 6/2023. "Folgore" means "lightning" in Italian.

Maserati dealerships are currently accepting deposits for the Italy-imported Grecale Folgore. The price has not yet been revealed.

The Folgore's design closely resembles its gasoline-powered counterparts, featuring a blend of stylish and sporty aesthetics. The most noticeable differences are the closed grille and slightly modified front bumper.

Inside, the layout is similar to the gasoline versions like the GT, Modena, and Trofeo. The Grecale's cabin exudes a modern, glamorous feel, a departure from the more utilitarian, mechanical style of models like the Ghibli, Quattroporte, and Levante.

The Maserati Grecale Folgore features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system producing 550 horsepower and 820 Nm of torque. It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.1 seconds.

While the Folgore's output surpasses the 530-horsepower, 620 Nm V6 Trofeo, the latter achieves a quicker 0-100 km/h time of 3.8 seconds.

The Folgore's 105 kWh lithium-ion battery provides a range of approximately 501 km on a single charge. Using a 150 kW DC fast charger, it can charge from 0 to 80% in about 30 minutes.

Upon release, the Maserati Grecale Folgore will offer an alternative to the Porsche Macan EV, which is currently available in both electric and gasoline versions, priced between 3.48 and 5.86 billion VND.

Larger than the Macan, the Grecale also commands a higher price in Vietnam. The gasoline-powered versions currently range from 4.2 to 7.539 billion VND.
