The incident occurred on the evening of 31/1 at the Noi Bai intersection. As the red light turned green, traffic began to flow. However, a motorcycle, running the red light, sped into the middle of the intersection, lost control, and collided with the front of a car. The impact sent the rider flying into the air; they then fell to the road and lay motionless. Their casualty status is currently unknown.

Running a red light carries severe penalties. According to Decree 168/2024 on traffic violation penalties, the act of running a red light incurs a fine of 4-6 million VND and 4 points deducted from the driving license (GPLX). If this action causes an accident, the fine increases to 10-14 million VND, with 10 points deducted from the GPLX.
