A motorcyclist sped towards an intersection, running a red light and colliding directly with another motorcyclist crossing from a perpendicular direction. The impact caused both individuals to fall onto the road, but they fortunately stood up immediately afterward.

Road users must adhere to traffic signals. When a light turns red, vehicles should stop before the stop line, rather than speeding through the intersection, which jeopardizes their own safety and that of others.

Decree 168/2024 stipulates that motorcyclists who run a red light face fines ranging from 4-6 million dong and a deduction of 4 points from their driving license. If running a red light causes an accident, the penalty increases to a fine of 10-14 million dong and a deduction of 10 points from the driving license.
