According to the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA) sales report, 2,302 pickup trucks were sold in July, a 13.3% increase compared to the 2,031 units sold in June. This growth was primarily driven by the Toyota Hilux, Ford Ranger, and Isuzu D-Max, while Mitsubishi Triton experienced a decline in July sales compared to June.
The Hilux had a successful month, climbing from third place in June to second in July. Hilux sales increased from 280 units in June to 390 in July, representing a 39.3% growth.
Isuzu's D-Max also saw a slight increase, from 31 units to 42, a 35.5% rise. This was the second-highest growth rate in the pickup truck segment in July. Although D-Max sales remain modest, this positive trend indicates Isuzu's efforts to improve its market share.
The Ranger continues to dominate as the "king of pickup trucks" in the Vietnamese market. Ranger sales reached 1,598 units in July, up from 1,403 units in June, a 13.9% increase. With its superior market share, Ford's pickup truck remains the market leader.
Meanwhile, the Triton experienced a decline in sales. Mitsubishi's pickup truck dropped from 317 units in June to 272 in July, a 14.2% decrease.
