Public electric bikes in Hue: stylish and ergonomic

The striking avocado green bikes are primarily found along the Perfume River and within the Imperial City, though helmets are not provided.

Hue has introduced GCOO electric assist bicycles, a smart and eco-friendly transportation option designed to serve both local residents and tourists exploring the city's historical sites. These bikes feature a modern and youthful design.

Distinguishing themselves from public electric bikes in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, Hue's GCOO bikes boast a modern and visually appealing design.

Sports cyclists, in particular, commend the ergonomic, curved handlebars for reducing hand fatigue on longer journeys. Additionally, the seat height is optimized for the average Vietnamese physique.

The electric assist bicycle service in Hue is priced at 1.500 VND per minute, with package options like a one-day Plus ticket available for greater savings. The entire system operates automatically through a mobile application. Bikes are conveniently located at over 20 stations near major tourist attractions, including the Imperial City and Gia Long Tomb.

Users initiate their ride by downloading the app, scanning the QR code on the bike, and completing payment via Momo e-wallet or other integrated app gateways.

Notably, unlike services in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, these bikes do not provide helmets in their front baskets.

Each GCOO bike is equipped with a smart dashboard on its handlebar, integrating an electronic motorlock and an advanced GPS system. This setup automatically synchronizes real-time location data to a central server for efficient station management. For user convenience and safety, a smartphone holder is also provided.

A bright front headlight enhances visibility and safety during nighttime rides, complemented by a rotating bell positioned near the left grip.

These bikes reach a maximum speed of 25 km/h and are powered by a 662 Wh lithium-ion battery. Users can conveniently monitor the remaining battery level to plan their journeys effectively.

Each bike features a flexible adjustable seat post, accommodating riders of various heights.

They are equipped with 24-inch wheels and puncture-proof solid rubber tires, which incorporate a hidden honeycomb structure to absorb shocks from potholes or cobblestone paths.

The electric motor engages after the rider begins pedaling, further supported by a smart motorlock and an upgraded GPS module for precise real-time tracking.

For braking, the front wheel features a mechanical disc brake, while the rear wheel is fitted with a drum brake that includes a smart lock. Sturdy aluminum alloy cast rims ensure high load capacity.

Designed for solo riders, the bikes do not have a rear seat. Furthermore, the entire electrical system boasts an IPX7 waterproof rating, making them safe and reliable for riding in all weather conditions, particularly during Hue's rainy season.

Beyond these modern electric options, Hue also maintains traditional public bicycle services for visitors and residents.
