A 22-year-old motorcyclist was sent tumbling onto the roof of an oto after a collision caused by a 77-year-old driver's unsafe turn. The incident occurred on the afternoon of 14/1 in Varzea Grande, Mato Grosso state, Brazil.
The oto, driven by the elderly man, was crossing an intersection as two motorcycles approached from the left. One of the motorcycles, traveling at a higher speed, collided perpendicularly with the accelerating oto as it attempted to cross the road. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown into the air; a shoe flew off their foot before they landed on the car's roof, then slid down the rear windshield to rest on the ground.
The motorcyclist sustained injuries and was immediately transported to a hospital; their specific condition remains unknown. The oto driver suffered minor injuries.

Camera footage confirmed that the oto driver crossed the intersection without ensuring the path was clear. In Brazil, dangerous driving carries severe penalties: a 560 USD fine, a license suspension of 2-8 months (potentially up to 12 months for serious consequences), and vehicle impoundment.
