According to experts from Car Awards, making a "peek-a-boo" turn – suddenly appearing from a blind spot – is a common error in Vietnam, observed in both motorcycles and oto. Such turns not only create conflicts with traffic flow but also pose a high risk of accidents, particularly when visibility is obstructed by trees or parked vehicles, as seen in the video footage.
When approaching an intersection, all vehicles should reduce speed and observe their surroundings carefully. When changing direction, drivers must signal and make a turn perpendicular to the center of the road, avoiding sharp turns into oncoming traffic lanes.
Two motorcycles collided violently at a blind corner, causing both riders to fall onto the road at the Le Xoay - Pham Van Dong intersection on 8/6, Phu Tho. Video: CTV
