The Bengaluru Regional Transport Office (RTO) received information about a supercar with $165,000 in unpaid road tax in Karnataka. The frequently sighted red Ferrari's notoriety drew the attention of authorities.
After verifying the unpaid tax, the RTO seized the vehicle outside the owner's residence. The owner was notified and given a deadline to pay or face legal action.

The owner promptly paid the full $165,000 to the Bengaluru RTO and reclaimed their Ferrari. This marked one of the largest tax recovery efforts in the state.
This wasn't the only Ferrari SF90 impounded by the Bengaluru RTO. Earlier this year, another SF90, along with luxury vehicles including Porsches, BMWs, Mercedes, Land Rovers, and Aston Martins, were also seized. The total unpaid taxes amounted to approximately $351,000.
The Bengaluru RTO has been monitoring unusual car gatherings in recent months. Special teams actively track weekend drives and gatherings, identifying out-of-state vehicles. They then verify registration details and apprehend those with unpaid Karnataka road tax.
