Tailgating leads to rear-end collision after sudden braking

A silver car's abrupt, unsignaled lane change caused a chain reaction, leading to a rear-end collision on a busy street.

Video: Duong Tai

The incident occurred on the evening of 20/12 on Vo Nguyen Giap street, Dong Anh commune. A silver car, traveling in the middle lane, unexpectedly veered into the left lane without signaling. This abrupt maneuver forced a vehicle in the left lane to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. Consequently, a car following too closely behind, unable to react in time, collided with the braking vehicle.

To prevent similar incidents, drivers must maintain a sufficient safe distance from other vehicles, allowing adequate time to react to unexpected situations. Furthermore, before changing direction or lanes, drivers should always activate their turn signals and carefully check their surroundings before steering.
