The driver of a car with a dashcam cried out in alarm as massive rocks plummeted onto a tanker truck. The tanker section swung out over the deep ravine, detached from the cab, and fell.
The tanker driver miraculously escaped unharmed. The car recording the incident, stopped while waiting to pass, was hit by the tanker, cracking its windshield, but no one else was injured.
The road in the video is known as one of the shortest yet most perilous routes into Tibet, famed for its treacherous terrain and stunning scenery.
The route traverses over 150 areas prone to rockslides and three snow-capped mountain passes over 4,000 m, posing serious challenges to both drivers and vehicles. The late July-September period is the rainy season along this route, a time when landslides and rockfalls are frequent.
