The accident occurred on the afternoon of 3/12/2024, at an intersection in Huntington Beach, California. The Model 3 lost control, sideswiping an oncoming vehicle. It then collided with 6 other vehicles and flipped.

Police confirmed the 37-year-old Tesla driver died, and others were injured. Among the victims were two police officers in a patrol car and a father transporting his child. Fortunately, injuries were not life-threatening.

Mark Ahrens, the father involved, stated that they were singing Christmas songs just before the collision. Bystanders pulled Ahrens and his son from their vehicle before both were taken to the hospital.
