The China Association for Quality (CAQ) announced the 2025 New Energy Vehicle User Satisfaction Index (NEV-CACSI) results on 3/12 in Beijing, as reported by China News. The overall NEV-CACSI score for 2025 reached 80 points out of 100, marking a one-point increase from 2024 and reflecting significant improvements in perceived quality and value by owners. Xiaomi SU7, BMW i5, and Zeekr 001 jointly secured the top position, each achieving 82 satisfaction points. BYD Han EV followed closely with one point less, while the top 10 also included: Xpeng P7+, Changan Qiyuan A07, Leapmotor C01, IM L6, Dongfeng eπ 007, and Geely Galaxy E8.
The CAQ also recognized leading models in specific segments: mini electric vehicles such as the Wuling Hongguang Mini EV, Chery Little Ant, and FAW Bestune Pony; pure electric mid-size SUVs like the Tesla Model Y and Nio EC6; and hybrid MPVs including the GAC Trumpchi E8 PHEV and Denza D9 DM-i.

The 2025 survey collected 25,303 valid responses from 128 cities across five major regions of China, evaluating 162 best-selling models. The assessment covered five criteria: overall satisfaction, quality, reliability, performance and design, after-sales service, and sales service. Results indicated that domestic new energy vehicle brands achieved satisfaction scores on par with joint venture brands, reporting fewer faults per 100 vehicles, particularly within the smart cabin system.
Despite these positive trends, the survey highlighted areas of concern. Across the industry, the number of faults per 100 vehicles increased to 109, an increase of 18 faults compared to 2024. Smart cabin issues (31 faults), advanced driver-assistance systems (22 faults), and interior components (12 faults) collectively accounted for 60% of all reported problems.
Despite these challenges, satisfaction with quality and reliability rose to 80,8 points, while satisfaction with performance and design increased to 81,1 points. Owner priorities continue to center on performance, reliability, and driving comfort. Conversely, interest in low maintenance costs or vehicle aesthetics has decreased.
The CAQ has been conducting user satisfaction surveys for China's new energy vehicle industry for 11 consecutive years, starting in 2015. The 2025 survey encompassed key categories such as: plug-in hybrid sedans, plug-in hybrid SUVs, extended-range SUVs, plug-in hybrid MPVs, electric sedans, electric SUVs, and electric MPVs.
