At the end of the first 7 months of 2025, the B-segment MPV remains one of the two highest-selling segments in the Vietnamese automobile market, alongside small SUVs. This segment has 7 models from 6 brands competing, with sales in the first half of 2025 reaching nearly 19,000 vehicles, a 5% increase compared to the first half of 2024.
Toyota Vietnam participates in the B-segment MPV group with the Veloz Cross and Avanza Premio duo, selling a total of 3,717 vehicles in the first half of this year, holding about 20% of the market share. The Veloz Cross is the main model helping the Japanese automaker take the second-place spot in the segment with sales in the first 7 months reaching 4,250 units and a cumulative total of 35,720 units since its launch in Vietnam.
The steady monthly sales growth of the Veloz Cross has contributed to Toyota maintaining its position as the best-selling foreign car brand in the Vietnamese market for 7 consecutive months, surpassing the cumulative sales milestone of 1 million vehicles in 7/2025. According to sales experts, Toyota Vietnam does not offer large discounts but focuses on providing practical support to customers, such as reducing registration fees or supporting loan interest rates, thereby maintaining the attractiveness of their products.

Within the B-segment MPV group, the Veloz Cross is one of the models equipped with various safety technologies, including: a 360-degree camera, hill-start assist control (HAC), vehicle stability control (VCS), anti-lock braking system (ABS), brake assist (BA), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), and more. Additionally, the Japanese automaker also equips the top version of the Veloz Cross with the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package.
TSS on this model includes features such as: pre-collision system (PCS), lane departure alert (LDA), automatic high beams (AHB), lead vehicle start notification, accelerator operation control, rear cross-traffic alert (RCTA), and 6 airbags.

In urban use, when detecting a potential collision with the vehicle ahead (through analysis of data from the camera and radar mounted on the grille), the pre-collision system (PCS) will display a visual and audio alert to the driver. If the driver does not react (by braking or steering), the vehicle will automatically brake to minimize the possibility of a collision.
When traveling on the highway, the lane departure alert (LDA) technology helps control the vehicle more easily by alerting the driver with visuals, sounds, and steering wheel vibrations whenever the car unintentionally crosses lanes without using the turn signal.

After more than three years in the Vietnamese market, the Veloz Cross has made its mark in the segment with its spacious MPV-style interior and various features. The driver has a three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel with contrast stitching and integrated control buttons. The 7-inch LCD driver information display offers 4 customizable display modes.
The Veloz Cross's interior space is quite airy within the segment, with a maximum distance between seat rows of 980 mm and a flexible sliding capability of 240 mm. The seats can be folded flat into a "long sofa" mode, creating maximum relaxation space for passengers when the car is parked. For long trips, this 7-seater MPV meets entertainment needs with a 9-inch central touchscreen, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto connectivity, a modern floating design above the dashboard, and Qi-standard wireless charging.

Unlike competitors in the segment that use conventional continuously variable transmissions, the Veloz Cross has a D-CVT (Dual-CVT) with an auxiliary gear, supporting smoother starts and acceleration. The vehicle has a combined fuel consumption of 6.3 liters/100 km, according to the manufacturer.
"The Veloz Cross has received much positive feedback from users about its durability, reliability, minimal minor issues, and the need for only regular maintenance at authorized dealerships with transparent costs," a Toyota Vietnam representative said. "The availability of spare parts, reasonable costs, and a nationwide dealer network also add peace of mind and convenience for Toyota customers."
With its product advantages, combined with the flexible sales policies from the manufacturer, the Veloz Cross is a noteworthy option in the 7-seater MPV segment in Vietnam for families or ride-sharing drivers. The Veloz Cross has two versions: CVT and CVT TOP, priced at 638 and 660 million VND respectively, including VAT.
