Toyota, the Japanese automaker, announced a recall for its Land Cruiser Prado in the Vietnamese market on 30/6. The recall affects 563 Prado vehicles manufactured between 2024 and 2025. These vehicles are experiencing a software error within their 12,3-inch instrument panel, which prevents the 3D graphic display area from activating upon vehicle startup.

The primary concern stems from this software glitch, which can prevent crucial warning indicators from appearing on the instrument cluster. These include alerts for engine oil pressure, coolant temperature, and battery charging, among others. Such an oversight could leave drivers unaware of critical operational issues, posing a potential safety risk.
To address this issue, Toyota Vietnam will perform a software update for the instrument panel control unit on all affected vehicles. The procedure, which involves inspection and the software update, is estimated to take between 0.9 and 1.6 hours per vehicle.
The recall campaign will officially begin on 30/6, and will be carried out at all authorized Toyota dealerships nationwide. All associated costs related to the inspection and software update will be covered by the company.
Toyota Vietnam urges owners of the affected vehicles to promptly visit their nearest Toyota dealership to ensure the necessary technical service is performed, safeguarding both vehicle safety and owner interests. For vehicles that were imported unofficially, Toyota Vietnam confirms it will also provide free inspection and software updates upon request from the owner, following verification of the vehicle's eligibility for the recall.
