Vietnam's B-segment sedan market saw another decline in June, with 2,579 vehicles delivered to customers, a 4.6% decrease compared to the previous month. This marks the third consecutive monthly decline for the segment. Most top-selling models experienced decreased sales, while others saw growth.
The Toyota Vios remains the only model with four-digit sales figures for the month, totaling 1,059 vehicles, a 7.8% drop from the previous month. The Hyundai Accent experienced the most significant decline, at 13.3%, yet maintained its second-place position with 553 vehicles sold. These leading Japanese and South Korean models were the only two to see sales decrease during the month.
Other models experienced increased sales, with rankings remaining unchanged, although the absolute sales increase was only from a few to a few dozen vehicles. The Mazda2 held its third-place position with 458 vehicles sold (a 4.3% increase), followed by the Honda City in fourth place with 319 vehicles (a 3.6% increase), the Mitsubishi Attrage in fifth place with 160 vehicles (a 2.7% increase), and the Kia Soluto last with 30 vehicles, double its sales from the previous month.
For the first half of the year, the Vios leads with 5,265 vehicles sold, a significant margin over its competitors. The Accent and City are closely competing for second and third place, with 3,793 and 3,585 vehicles sold, respectively. The Mazda2 ranks fourth with 2,393 vehicles. Neither the Attrage nor the Soluto have surpassed 1,000 vehicles sold, with the Soluto selling only 164 units in the first half of the year. The B-segment sedan market's sales for the first half of this year are comparable to the same period last year.

The B-segment sedan remains a stable segment, while A, C, and D segment sedans have declined, replaced by SUVs. The B-segment remains popular due to its low ownership and operating costs, readily available parts, and suitability for ride-sharing services or small families buying their first car.
