Truck takes turn, spilling tons of wood onto oncoming vehicles

A truck sped towards an intersection, causing its entire load of eucalyptus wood to spill onto the road and crush vehicles that had just arrived.

The incident occurred at the Clock Tower intersection in Dan Chang district, Suphan Buri province, on 21/6. A tractor-trailer transporting eucalyptus wood experienced brake failure while traveling. The driver repeatedly honked from a distance to alert vehicles ahead.

However, upon reaching the intersection, with numerous vehicles stopped at the red light, the driver made a sharp left turn to avoid a direct collision.

The sudden maneuver caused the entire load of eucalyptus wood to lose balance, spilling onto the road and crushing vehicles waiting at the red light. The truck continued for over one kilometer before coming to a stop after the wood fell.

The accident resulted in injuries to one automobile driver and one motorcyclist, though fortunately, their conditions were not life-threatening. A total of 4 vehicles, comprising two automobiles and two motorcycles, sustained damage.

The truck driver was detained for questioning and to facilitate discussions regarding medical expenses and property damage compensation for the victims.
