Vietnamese tech startup enters electric motorcycle market

AVES is recruiting for numerous positions for its electric motorcycle project, planning to build a factory this year, with the first models expected to launch in mid-2027.

AVES Green Energy and Technology Joint Stock Company, established on 9/9, is making a significant entry into Vietnam's burgeoning electric vehicle sector. Headquartered in Hanoi, the company's strategic vision encompasses three key areas: smart electric vehicles, renewable energy, and internet of things (IoT) devices. Specifically, AVES aims to develop a range of electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, and bicycles, with a factory and research and development (R&D) center planned for Hung Yen.

The startup's entry coincides with a rapid expansion of electric motorcycle consumption in Vietnam. In the first 7 months of this year, over 500,000 electric motorcycles were sold across the country. This represents nearly 28% of the total industry market share and a substantial increase of over 97% compared to the same period in 2025, according to Motorcycles Data (MD). Vietnam currently ranks among the world's largest electric motorcycle markets, trailing only China and India.

To support its ambitious goals, AVES is actively recruiting for a wide array of positions, including roles in engineering, quality control, and supply chain management. The company aims to introduce its initial products to the market by mid-2027.

Further demonstrating its commitment to innovation, AVES announced in September the launch of the "Aves Future Mobility Challenge." This competition seeks to identify and honor highly applicable two-wheeler design concepts with practical implementation potential. Offering total prize money of up to 265 million VND, the challenge will run from September until the end of the year, forming a key part of the Vietnam Mobility Show 2026.
