VinFast electric motorbike achieves record sales

VinFast received over 135,000 orders and shipped more than 93,000 electric motorbikes in march, marking its highest monthly volume to date.

VinFast's record sales underscore the strong green transition in Vietnam's two-wheeled electric vehicle sector and highlight the significant market influence of the Vietnamese brand.

In march, VinFast reported receiving over 135,000 orders from distributors nationwide and shipping over 93,000 electric motorbikes. The Evo and Feliz models were top sellers, with 52,000 and over 24,000 units delivered respectively. VinFast's market research indicates these two models have been the best-selling vehicles across the market since the beginning of the year, including traditional gasoline motorbikes.

The company observed consistent growth in purchasing demand across all localities, particularly in Hanoi and TP HCM. In Hanoi alone, over 20,000 electric motorbikes were delivered in march. Despite adjusting factory capacity to achieve its highest production volume, VinFast could not fully meet market demand during this period of rapid growth.

VinFast is currently maximizing its factory output to complete existing orders and prepare for anticipated higher demand in the coming period.

Hoang Ha, General Director of VinFast Vietnam electric motorbikes, stated, "The record of over 135,000 orders in march alone demonstrates public demand for two-wheeled electric vehicles, aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuel models. VinFast will support users' green transition by providing charging station infrastructure, battery swapping, and after-sales services."

Beyond fluctuating gasoline and oil prices, VinFast electric motorbikes have increasingly proven their efficiency and market suitability. Currently, Vingroup is running a "gas-to-electric swap" program until 30/4, offering an additional 5% discount on electric motorbike prices for users transitioning from gasoline vehicles. This initiative includes other incentives such as: 0 dong down payment installment plans, a 6% vehicle price discount, 100% registration fee support, and free charging and battery swapping.

For GSM ride-hailing drivers, the company has introduced a policy of free battery rental and unlimited swaps for three years, valid until 31/3/2029. This applies to drivers operating exclusively on the Xanh SM Platform.
