Toyota Vios best-selling since start of year

Toyota's B-segment sedan recorded its highest sales since the beginning of the year, reclaiming its segment-leading position with 750 vehicles delivered in April.

In the first four months of the year, the Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers' Association (VAMA) reported total market sales of 126,794 vehicles, a 25% increase compared to the same period in 2025. In April, VAMA members sold 31,937 automobiles, an 8% increase over the same period last year.

VAMA's reported sales do not include VinFast, Hyundai, and some imported car brands.

The Toyota Vios emerged as a strong performer in the B-segment sedan market, leading the segment with 750 vehicles sold in April. Cumulatively, in the first four months of this year, the model recorded 3,487 units sold, marking a 14% increase compared to last year. Industry experts attribute the Vios's consistent appeal to its competitive pricing, low ownership costs, and long-standing reputation for durability.

The Toyota Vios is one of the few internal combustion engine models sustaining growth in the Vietnamese market. A sales manager at a Toyota dealership in Hanoi noted that despite the rising popularity of electric vehicles, internal combustion cars with accessible prices and proven quality, such as the Vios, retain a distinct market position. The manager added that the Vios and Yaris Cross are the most popular models among consumers at Toyota Vietnam dealerships.

Mr. The Son from Ba Dinh, Hanoi, who purchased a Vios G for over 500 million VND in April, cited practicality, pricing, and after-sales service as his reasons for choosing the model. "I need a durable car for my service business that also meets my family's needs," Son explained. "Its design is enduring, and safety features like lane departure warning and forward collision warning are useful."

Toyota has consistently offered promotions for the Vios to enhance its market appeal. In May, the B-segment sedan qualified for a 50% reduction in registration fees, translating to approximately 23-27 million VND depending on the version. For those opting for installment plans, the company provides a preferential interest rate of 6,99% per year, fixed for the first 12 months.

Experts conclude that the Toyota Vios remains a compelling choice in the traditional B-segment sedan market, thanks to its practical design, strong brand reputation, and consistent promotional offers.
