VinFast VF 7 launches in Indonesia

VinFast launched its C-segment electric SUV with a right-hand drive in Indonesia on 23/7, offering both the VF 7 Eco and Plus versions.

VinFast is offering two versions of the VF 7 in Indonesia: the Eco for 499 million IDR (approximately 778 million VND) and the Plus for 599 million IDR (approximately 934 million VND). The first 200 customers who receive their vehicles by 1/9 will be able to purchase the VF 7 Eco for 468 million IDR (approximately 730 million VND) or the VF 7 Plus for 568 million IDR (approximately 886 million VND). These prices include the battery. Deliveries are expected to begin later this year.

During the launch, VinFast announced free charging until 1/3/2028 at V-Green charging stations across Indonesia. The VF 7 comes with a 10-year or 200,000 km warranty, whichever comes first. Customers in Indonesia can order the VF 7 at VinFast showrooms and dealerships nationwide, or at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS), taking place from 24/7 to 3/8.

At GIIAS, the first 125 VF 7 buyers will receive a 7 million IDR (approximately 11 million VND) voucher for airline tickets. VF 3 buyers at the show will receive a 5 million IDR (approximately 8 million VND) accessory upgrade voucher, while VF 5 buyers will receive alloy wheels. Customers purchasing the VF e34 and VF 7 will receive travel vouchers.

Kariyanto Hardjosoemarto, CEO of VinFast Indonesia, stated that the VF 7 is the fifth electric vehicle model launched by the company in Indonesia, aiming to complete its all-electric product range in the archipelago nation. "Leveraging our diverse product line and 'Green for the Future' ecosystem, we aim to inspire the transition to green mobility among Indonesians, building a sustainable future," he said.

The VinFast VF 7 features the "Asymmetrical Universe" design language penned by Torino Design (Italy). Its exterior highlights include VinFast's signature wing-shaped LED lights at the front and rear. The sloping roofline evokes a coupe design, complemented by large wheel arches and 19-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle measures 4,545 mm in length, 1,890 mm in width, and 1,635 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,840 mm.

The interior features a 12.9-inch touchscreen, a heads-up display (HUD), a two-color D-cut steering wheel, and push-button gear selection. Five exterior and two interior color options are available, with the Plus version offering a two-tone interior.

The VF 7 Plus is equipped with two electric motors, delivering a combined output of 260 kW (349 horsepower) and 500 Nm of torque. It features all-wheel drive and a 70.8 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 471 km per charge, based on the NEDC standard. The Eco version has a single electric motor producing 130 kW (174 horsepower) and 250 Nm of torque, with a 59.6 kWh battery offering a range of 430 km per charge.

Safety features on the VF 7 include seven airbags and technologies such as: anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), brake assist (BA), electronic stability control (ESC), traction control system (TCS), hill start assist (HAS), and roll-over mitigation (ROM). The Plus version features an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) package with 17 features, including highway driving assist, traffic jam assist, automatic lane change, automatic emergency braking, and a 360-degree camera. Similar to the Vietnamese market, VinFast will provide free over-the-air updates for additional features in the future.

After more than a year in Indonesia, VinFast now offers the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF e34, and VF 7. These models all benefit from policies such as free charging at V-Green stations and 0% interest rate support. The Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer also continues to partner with dealerships and service centers to provide after-sales support to its customers.
