In a video filmed in Hainan, a yellow Xiaomi SU7 Ultra executes several impressive drifts. The vehicle is equipped with a hydraulic handbrake.
The SU7 Ultra's slides, mere centimeters from the curb and through obstacles, evoke the precision of Ken Block's renowned Gymkhana videos. Formula Drift driver Ye Zhicheng piloted the electric vehicle.
A highlight of the video is a figure-8 drift executed between two moving limousines. The 1,526-horsepower SU7 Ultra generated substantial tire smoke during the maneuver.
The SU7 Ultra also engaged in a mountain road drift battle with a modified Toyota 86. While the 86 quickly overheated, the Xiaomi sedan continued performing.
The SU7 Ultra has already achieved notable records. It's the fastest production car at the Shanghai International Circuit with a lap time of 2 minutes and 9.944 seconds. It's also the fastest 4-door car at the Chengdu Tianfu International Circuit (1 minute and 26.741 seconds) and the Zhuzhou International Circuit in Hunan (1 minute and 41.806 seconds).
According to Xiaomi, the SU7 Ultra accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 1.98 seconds and brakes from 100 to 0 km/h in 30.8 m. Its listed price is 529,900 CNY (approximately 74,000 USD).
