Xiaomi launched the YU7, its first electric SUV for the domestic market, on 26/6. The new electric SUV comes in three versions: Standard, Pro, and Max. Prices are 35,000 USD, 38,700 USD, and 45,600 USD, respectively.
In just three minutes after its launch, YU7 sales exceeded 200,000 units, according to Xiaomi. Customers only need to place a 2,800 USD deposit to secure an order and receive their vehicle quickly, as Xiaomi says it has a limited number of "near-complete vehicles" ready for delivery.

Lei Jun, CEO of Xiaomi, predicts demand for the YU7 will be about three times higher than the SU7 electric sedan launched last year. In China, the sales ratio of SUVs to sedans is 3:1.
The YU7 Standard is equipped with a single rear-wheel-drive (RWD) electric motor producing 315 horsepower and 528 Nm of torque, along with a 96.3 kWh LFP battery pack providing a range of 830 km. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.88 seconds.
The Pro version has two electric motors (AWD) with a combined output of 489 horsepower and a 96.3 kWh LFP battery, offering a range of 770 km. The Max version features two electric motors (AWD) with a combined output of 681 horsepower and 866 Nm of torque. This version uses a 101.7 kWh NMC battery pack, providing a range of 760 km. The YU7 Max accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.23 seconds.
The YU7 is a five-door, five-seater SUV based on the Modena platform. It measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,608 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm. All YU7 versions utilize Xiaomi's 800V architecture and are equipped with the company's self-developed V6S motor, capable of reaching 22,000 rpm.
The battery supports 5.2C super-fast charging with a maximum charging power of 528 kW, allowing for a 10% to 80% charge in just 12 minutes and providing up to 620 km of range in 15 minutes.
The YU7's interior features Nappa leather seats, 123-degree reclining zero-gravity front seats with massage function, 135-degree power-adjustable rear seats, and a 1.1 m HyperVision panoramic display combining three high-resolution mini-LED screens. Rear passengers have a 6.68-inch touchscreen control panel. The vehicle supports intelligent voice control with Xiaomi's AI assistant.

Additional features include a 4.6-liter mini-fridge and a 25-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system. Xiaomi has also integrated the entire Apple ecosystem, including CarPlay, Music, and Apple Watch compatibility. All versions are equipped with lidar, Nvidia's Thor chip, and an end-to-end driver-assistance system with 10 million clips developed by Xiaomi.
In China, the Xiaomi YU7 competes directly with the Tesla Model Y. The Chinese electric vehicle is 1,400 USD cheaper than its American rival. Other competitors from the domestic market include the BYD Sealion 07, Zeekr 7X, Onvo L60, and Xpeng G7.
