Yamaha Exciter 135 special edition arrives in Vietnam

The Malaysia-produced Exciter, featuring racing-inspired Red Racer livery and a 135cc engine, has been privately imported.

A Ho Chi Minh City company recently imported a shipment of Yamaha 135LC Fi Red Racer motorcycles from Malaysia. In Vietnam, the LC is known as the Exciter and is currently being distributed and manufactured domestically by Yamaha.

In mid-July, Hong Leong Yamaha Motor in Malaysia introduced two special editions of the 135LC with different liveries, according to Paultan. One, the Team ASEAN Blue, features a predominantly blue color scheme, while the Red Racer combines red, blue, and white.

For existing owners, Yamaha Malaysia also sells the two liveries separately. Each set costs around 113 USD.

The Red Racer edition of the Yamaha 135LC Fi has arrived in Vietnam in limited numbers. The most significant difference compared to previous 135LC Fi models imported into the country is the racing-inspired livery, while the design and features remain unchanged.

The Yamaha 135LC Fi has an angular, sporty design. The motorcycle features split LED headlights, designed to resemble the eyes of a hawk.

The imported model has a robust and well-finished body. It features a backbone frame, telescopic front forks, and an adjustable monoshock rear suspension. The seat height is 775 mm, with a slightly stepped design, and the tail is sharply pointed.

Like the Exciter 150 currently sold in Vietnam, the imported Yamaha 135LC also has a digital speedometer. The imported model has a 4.6-liter fuel tank and 17-inch wheels.

The Yamaha LC135 engine is a 135cc SOHC unit, producing 12.5 horsepower and 12.2 Nm of torque. It's paired with a 4-speed transmission and an automatic clutch.

The distributor has not yet announced the price of the Yamaha 135LC Fi Red Racer. The standard version previously imported into Vietnam was priced at no less than 100 million Vietnamese dong.

Yamaha previously sold a 135cc version of the Exciter in Vietnam but discontinued it in 2014. The Japanese manufacturer now only distributes the 155cc version, priced from 45.8 million Vietnamese dong.
