"Recognizing the cargo segment as an indispensable pillar for the group's sustainable growth, ANA HD conducted a comprehensive analysis to determine the optimal organizational model, thereby creating synergy between ANA and NCA", ANA stated. Based on this, ANA HD decided to begin reviewing and preparing for the restructuring of cargo companies across the group, aiming to further strengthen and develop a solid foundation for this operation.
ANA also stated that detailed information regarding specific legal entities and implementation plans will be determined during the ongoing strategic evaluation.
ANA completed the acquisition of NCA from the NYK transport group last August. This acquisition made ANA the largest airline group in Japan, considering its combined passenger and cargo transport operations.
Since the acquisition, All Nippon Airways and NCA have leveraged their integrated cargo transport capacity. The two airlines also launched a codeshare agreement for cargo flights between Japan, Europe, and North America from October.
According to the plan, ANA's cargo division restructuring will be completed by fiscal year 2026, while NCA is expected to maintain its separate air operator's certificate (AOC).
ANA (All Nippon Airways) is Japan's largest airline, actively operating in both passenger and cargo transport, with an extensive network across Asia, Europe, and North America. ANA Holdings is the parent company, guiding the long-term development strategy for the entire group.
NCA (Nippon Cargo Airlines) is a Japanese cargo airline specializing in long-haul international routes. Following its acquisition by ANA Holdings, NCA has become a crucial pillar in ANA's strategy to expand its logistics and cargo divisions.
