Binance, the world's largest crypto exchange, recently posted a job opening for a general director position to oversee its operations in Vietnam, with the workplace located in Ho Chi Minh City.
According to the job description, the general director will be responsible for managing sales activities, financial control, recruitment, and team leadership across Vietnam.
Binance seeks candidates with a bachelor's degree in business administration or management, with an MBA preferred, and over 10 years of experience in a similar senior management role. Additionally, applicants must possess in-depth technical knowledge, particularly in digital assets, along with legal experience and strong relationships with key stakeholders in Vietnam.
These recruitment efforts follow previous discussions regarding Binance's presence in Vietnam. In late 11/2025, a leader from the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology indicated that Binance was expected to establish its headquarters at the Center for Innovative Startups (Sihub) building on Truong Dinh street, Xuan Hoa ward. However, this information was preliminary, and no official decision had been finalized.

Further highlighting its engagement, in 9/2025, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Hoa Binh met with Binance CEO Richard Teng during a business trip to the UAE. During their meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister proposed that Binance open an office in Da Nang and collaborate on implementing a crypto asset exchange. The Binance CEO agreed to share expertise and cooperate on developing Vietnam's crypto asset market and an international financial center. Binance also signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Da Nang People's Committee to advance blockchain technology and digital assets.
In an interview with VnExpress in 7/2025, CEO Richard Teng emphasized that Binance considers Vietnam a crucial link in its global strategy for developing and promoting digital assets. Binance operates as a global blockchain ecosystem, underpinning the world's largest crypto exchange by trading volume and registered users. It serves over 300 million people in more than 100 countries, offering a wide array of services including trading, finance, education, research, payments, institutional services, and Web3 features.
Vietnam is currently piloting a crypto asset market for five years. The Ministry of Finance has begun accepting applications for exchange licenses, with approximately 10 securities companies and banks reportedly planning to participate. According to Deputy Minister Nguyen Duc Chi, Vietnam aims to have "more than one exchange" to foster competition, but the number of licenses will be limited to effectively control risks.
