On 20/5, Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (PVN) announced and presented the decision to appoint Le Manh Cuong as a member of the Board of Directors and the group's general director.
Born in 1974 in Ha Tinh, Cuong brings nearly 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He holds a degree as a marine control engineer, a master's in economic management specializing in oil and gas, and an advanced political theory qualification.
The new PVN general director has held various management and executive positions within member units and at PVN. He spent a significant period at PetroVietnam Technical Services Corporation (PTSC) before his appointment as PVN's deputy general director.
He previously served as PTSC's general director and participated in the management and operation of numerous international businesses and projects in Singapore, Malaysia, and other locations.
As PVN's deputy general director, Cuong oversaw key areas such as oil and gas exploration and production, energy transition, and the Ninh Thuan 2 nuclear power project.

PVN's current leadership includes Le Ngoc Son as chairman of the Board of Directors. Other board members are Bui Minh Tien, Nguyen Van Mau, Tran Binh Minh, Pham Tuan Anh, and Tran Hong Nam.
The group's executive board now comprises Le Manh Cuong as general director, Le Xuan Huyen as deputy general director in charge of the executive board, and deputy general directors Do Chi Thanh, Cao Hoai Duong, and Phan Tu Giang.
