Boots has appointed XPO Logistics as its long-term logistics partner to support supply chain operations in the UK and Ireland, particularly with the rising demand for online shopping.
Under the agreement, XPO Logistics, which has collaborated with Boots since 3/2024, will manage primary transport operations from Boots' two service centers in Beeston (Nottingham) and Burton-on-Trent to transit points across the UK and Ireland.

The new operating system includes a team of 50 long-haul drivers and 22 internal dispatch drivers, along with a fleet of 35 primary transport vehicles and 10 support vehicles. Two dedicated fleets will operate seven days a week: one covering fixed distribution routes, and the other serving dispatch operations at the Beeston and Burton facilities.
Additionally, Boots will receive support from 23 dedicated XPO Logistics personnel.
Keiron Samways, Boots' director of warehousing, transport, and distribution for the UK and Ireland, stated that the company's online operations are experiencing rapid growth, necessitating a more flexible and efficient transport system. This long-term partnership with XPO Logistics will enhance the supply chain's visibility, sustainability, and performance, while better meeting current and future customer needs.
Dan Myers, representing XPO Logistics, emphasized that initiatives to optimize the fleet and reduce emissions are helping to limit the environmental impact of transport. This supports Boots' sustainability goals and improves customer experience.
