According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, import turnover of Polish food items such as milk and dairy products, food preparations, and seafood reached nearly 11,8 million USD in the first two months of the year, growing by nearly 158%.
Meat products also saw steady growth. The Union of Producers and Employers of the Meat Industry (UPEMI) reported exporting about 7,000 tons of pork in the first half of 2025, making Poland the third largest supplier to Vietnam. Similarly, Poland has become one of the top suppliers of imported poultry.
Wieslaw Rozanski, UPEMI President, estimates that Poland currently exports a total of about 20,000 tons of various meats (including beef, pork, and poultry) to Vietnam annually. "We expect to soon exceed the 40,000-ton export milestone in the near future", he said at the recent launch of the Meats Master 2026 project in TP HCM.

Poland is the fifth largest food producer in the European Union. For beef alone, the country ranks fifth in production and second in exports. However, this product only entered the Vietnamese market in October 2025, and its market share remains modest.
The UPEMI President predicts that Polish beef's position will soon be strengthened due to increasing consumer demand, reduced tariffs from the EVFTA, and a growing number of companies authorized to export to Vietnam.
"Poland considers Vietnam one of the most promising and dynamic markets in Southeast Asia for agri-food exports", Wieslaw Rozanski stated.
This is because Vietnam has a population of nearly 100 million people, a rapidly growing economy, and a young consumer base, creating increasing demand for high-quality imported food products, including meat.
According to the Department of Domestic Market Management and Development (Ministry of Industry and Trade), Vietnam ranks fourth globally in pork consumption, estimated at about 39 kg per person annually (based on carcass weight) by 2025, up from 30 kg in 2021. Additionally, beef consumption is approximately 7-8 kg per person annually.
Besides penetrating retail channels like supermarkets, Polish businesses are also aiming to expand their product presence in the HoReCa channel (hotels, restaurants, and catering services), participating in trade promotion events such as Food & Hospitality Vietnam 2026 later this month in TP HCM.
