Leaders from three major Chinese corporations presented investment proposals to Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc in Nanning on 16/9, during the China - ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO).
During the meeting, leaders of China Energy Engineering Group (CEEC) expressed interest in expanding investments in renewable energy, gas-fired power, and emerging power sources. The company also proposed participation in developing solutions to enhance Vietnam's transmission system capacity, aiming to meet power demand and support socio-economic development.
Beyond the power sector, CEEC is keen on investing in three railway lines connecting Vietnam and China: Lao Cai - Ha Noi - Hai Phong, Dong Dang - Ha Noi, and Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong.
Similarly, China Communications Construction Company (CCCC) aims to participate in the Lao Cai - Ha Noi - Hai Phong high-speed railway project. Their interests also extend to seaport, logistics, road and waterway transport, and green energy initiatives. The group affirmed its readiness to collaborate with Vietnamese ministries, agencies, and businesses to identify suitable projects.
Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Pham Gia Tuc noted Vietnam's ongoing implementation of numerous large-scale projects in road, railway, aviation, and seaport infrastructure. He urged CCCC and CEEC to engage with relevant ministries and agencies, review current plans, and formulate specific cooperation proposals.

Huawei, the technology firm, proposed collaboration in developing green energy, power storage systems, and applying artificial intelligence (AI) across various economic sectors. The corporation also seeks continued involvement in Vietnam's digital economy development, digital transformation efforts, and high-tech human resource training.
The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged Huawei to transition from merely supplying products and equipment to engaging in collaborative research, development, and co-creating technology solutions with Vietnamese enterprises. He suggested both parties could select several breakthrough pilot projects in AI, digital technology, and green energy.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister, Vietnam identifies science-technology, innovation, digital transformation, and AI as crucial drivers for national growth. Vietnam aims to cooperate with major technology firms, including Huawei, to apply advanced technologies, boost productivity, enhance governance capacity, and develop new industries and sectors.
