Do Thanh Hai, a prominent figure in Vietnamese media and arts, has joined Sun Group as its deputy general director and general director of the film and performing arts division. He commenced his new role on 5/10, following his departure from Vietnam Television (VTV) earlier in October.
Sun Group, a multi-sector corporation with interests in real estate, resort tourism, infrastructure, aviation, healthcare, and arts, is significantly expanding its artistic and cinematic endeavors. The group established the Sun Symphony Orchestra (SSO) in 2017 and regularly organizes art performances and fireworks festivals at its projects in Ha Long, Da Nang, and Phu Quoc. Furthermore, Sun Group plans a substantial investment in the film sector, with a 279-hectare film studio envisioned for the Urban City mega-urban area in Ninh Binh (formerly part of Ha Nam).
Born in 1973, Hai holds a doctorate in arts and brings over 20 years of experience in media, culture, arts, and content creation. Before his move to Sun Group, he served for six years as the permanent deputy general director of Vietnam Television (VTV), a position he assumed in 9/2020.
During his tenure at VTV, Hai held various roles, including director, department head, and Director of the Vietnam Feature Film Center (VFC). He is widely recognized for his involvement with popular national television programs familiar to many generations of viewers, such as "Gap nhau cuoi nam - Tao quan," "Thu gian cuoi tuan," and "Gap nhau cuoi tuan." As a director, his credits include television series like "Xin hay tin em," "Cua de danh," "Phia truoc la bau troi," and "Nha co ba chi em." In his management capacity, he played a key role in shaping strategies that led to VFC's success with prime-time series such as "Nguoi phan xu," "Quynh bup be," and "Song chung voi me chong."
