Eximbank acting general director resigns

Tran Tan Loc, Eximbank's acting general director, submitted his resignation effective 1/8, following the bank's appointment of a new chairman.

Tran Tan Loc, acting general director of Vietnam Export Import Bank (Eximbank), has submitted his resignation, citing personal reasons. The resignation is effective 1/8. Loc was appointed to the acting general director role in early July last year.

His departure comes amidst significant changes in Eximbank's senior leadership. Following an extraordinary personnel meeting on 24/7, the bank's Board of Directors appointed Nguyen Le Quoc Anh as chairman. Nguyen Le Quoc Anh brings extensive experience in the banking and finance sector, having previously served as Techcombank's general director.

Additionally, Eximbank welcomed 4 new independent board members, all foreign nationals: Richa Goswami, Ooi Huey Tyng, Chua Teck Huat Bill, and Michael Richard Harte. These individuals each possess over 30 years of experience in the finance and banking industry.

Born in 1969, Tran Tan Loc holds a Doctor of Economics degree and has been with Eximbank since 1994. Throughout his tenure, he held various senior leadership positions at the bank, including vice chairman, deputy general director, and board member.

Following Tran Tan Loc's resignation, Eximbank's Board of Management will comprise 6 members: Nguyen Van Hoa, Nguyen Thanh Long, La Quang Trung, Nguyen Thi Van Anh, Le Thi Bich Phuong, and Bui Thi Thanh Thuy.

In the first half of this year, Eximbank reported a pre-tax profit of 678,5 billion VND, a decrease of more than half compared to the same period last year. Total assets at the end of QII reached 266.067 billion VND, with loans totaling nearly 186.200 billion VND.
