Reasons Vingroup named the 135,000-seat stadium VinFast

Choosing the VinFast brand for the nation's iconic sports facility helps promote Vietnam's image internationally.

Vingroup announced it established specific criteria before selecting the VinFast brand for its world-class stadium. The name was deemed important, needing to align with the iconic structure's stature, symbolize ambition, and promote Vietnam's image globally.

The primary reason for this choice stems from VinFast's rapid ascent. In nine years, the company has transformed into a global automotive manufacturer, selling vehicles in many countries and consistently leading sales in Vietnam's oto market for dozens of consecutive months.

The new stadium will embody a green mission, mirroring VinFast's ethos. It will feature artificial intelligence (AI) technology for field surface replacement within 6-10 hours, 5G-connected smart seating, and real-time security and crowd management. The group also states that water recovery and reuse systems will save approximately 70% of clean water, complemented by natural ventilation and heat and UV-resistant materials to lower energy consumption.

Additionally, the VinFast stadium will include VVIP areas designed to high international standards, suitable for hosting heads of state and high-level delegations at major international events. An adjacent ecosystem of auxiliary sports facilities will form a comprehensive sports, entertainment, and cultural complex, capable of hosting future events like ASIAD, the FIFA World Cup, or the Olympics.

The VinFast stadium is projected for completion in 7/2027. Upon completion, it is expected to be the world's largest stadium with an automatic retractable roof, spanning 73,3 hectares, offering a seating capacity of 135,000, and designed to FIFA standards.
