Vingroup posts substantial profit

In Q2, Vingroup's profit after tax reached 14,763 billion VND, 6.5 times higher than the same period last year, driven by increased revenue from real estate, electric vehicle manufacturing, and financial activities.

According to its Q2 financial report, Vingroup Group recorded revenue of nearly 118,000 billion VND, 2.6 times higher than the same period last year. Real estate remained the main revenue source for the company, contributing over half of its sales, a trend consistent with previous quarters.

Vinhomes, the largest real estate company within billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's ecosystem, reported converted revenue of 134,200 billion VND, three times higher than last year. This significant improvement in sales resulted from the company's large-scale sales at projects such as Vinhomes Green Paradise, Vinhomes Global Gate Ha Long, and Vinhomes Saigon Park.

The manufacturing segment contributed Vingroup's second-largest revenue, totaling 33,438 billion VND, almost double last year's figure. VinFast, the primary contributor to this operation, delivered 128,662 electric vehicles globally, a 78% increase from last year. E-scooter sales also increased nearly fourfold compared to 2025.

During Q2, VinFast divested from VFTP, the entity holding the automaker's manufacturing operations in Vietnam. This move aligns with global companies like Apple and Nike, where Pham Nhat Vuong's company focuses on sales, warranty, and after-sales services rather than direct product manufacturing. Cong ty Tuong Lai, an organization funded by Pham Nhat Vuong, acquired the transferred assets.

Beyond its core business segments, Vingroup also earned 21,653 billion VND from financial investments, 8.6 times higher than the same period in 2025. Most of this income came from profits from subsidiary transfers and other financial items.

After deducting expenses, Pham Nhat Vuong's company recorded a profit after tax of approximately 14,763 billion VND, marking its highest quarterly profit to date.

For the first half of the year, Vingroup achieved revenue of 222,300 billion VND, a 72.5% increase compared to the same period last year. The company's profit after tax was 20,375 billion VND, 4.5 times higher than 2025, completing 58% of this year's plan.

As of 30/6, Vingroup's total assets reached 1.3 million billion VND, an increase of nearly 200,000 billion VND from the beginning of the year. The group stands as the only non-financial company listed on the stock exchange with capital exceeding 1 million billion VND.

Total liabilities stood at 1.1 million billion VND, including over 356,200 billion VND in financial debt. The company's equity reached 180,706 billion VND, half of its financial debt. Pham Nhat Vuong's company also holds over 105 billion VND in cash and bank deposits.

Since 2025, Vingroup has expanded its business into energy and infrastructure, alongside its existing technology - industry, real estate, and social philanthropy sectors. VinSpeed, a railway company founded by Pham Nhat Vuong, is currently developing the Ha Noi - Quang Ninh high-speed railway, the Ben Thanh - Can Gio Metro, and five new urban railway projects in Ha Noi.

Meanwhile, VinEnergo, an energy company within the Vingroup ecosystem, is implementing eight domestic projects with an investment capital of approximately 287,000 billion VND. The total capacity of these plants reaches nearly 7,500 MW.
