Former Green SM CEO establishes electric motorbike startup

Approximately three months after departing Green SM, former CEO Nguyen Van Thanh founded a technology startup, which includes the production of electric bicycles and motorbikes.

Aves Green Energy and Technology Joint Stock Company was established on 9/9 with a charter capital of 30 billion VND and is headquartered in Hanoi. According to the startup's shareholder structure, former Green SM CEO Nguyen Van Thanh holds 85% of the shares.

On the evening of 14/9, Thanh stated that he serves as Aves' founder and CEO. The startup focuses on researching, developing, and manufacturing clean energy products, ranging from electric bicycles, motorbikes, and tricycles to renewable energy and smart technology devices.

Aves aims to launch its products by mid-2027. The company's establishment coincides with a continuous increase in electric motorbike consumption in Vietnam. In the first seven months of this year, over 500,000 electric motorbikes were sold in Vietnam, capturing nearly 28% of the total industry market share. This figure also nearly doubled compared to the same period last year, according to statistics from Motorcycles Data (MD).

Thanh's new company comes approximately three months after he departed Green SM, a leading ride-hailing company in the domestic market. In June, he resigned from his role as Green SM's CEO for personal reasons, after serving for over three years.

Born in 1992, Thanh held management roles at companies such as Cargill Nutrition and Lazada Logistics from 2016 to 2019. Four years ago, Forbes recognized him in its "Under 30 Asia Class Of 2022" list, highlighting influential entrepreneurs under 30 in Asia.
