On 16/1, FPT Securities (FPTS) announced the receipt of a resignation letter from Nguyen Van Dung, chairman of its board of directors. In the letter, Dung cited his reason for resigning as spending most of his time living and working abroad.
"This could affect my ability to fully and promptly participate in company activities, meetings, and fulfill the responsibilities of a board member as regulated," the FPTS chairman stated. FPTS will proceed with Dung's dismissal at this year's annual general meeting.
Born in 1976, Nguyen Van Dung holds bachelor's degrees in banking accounting and English. He has 30 years of experience in the finance industry. From 1996 to 2007, he worked at various organizations, including Asia-Pacific Bank, Mizuho Corporate Bank, and HSBC.
Dung joined FPTS in 2007 as director of investment advisory. In August 2020, he became FPTS chairman, following two years as a board member.
Established in 2007, FPTS currently has a charter capital of 3,465 billion VND. The FPT Group holds a 17.6% stake in the securities company.
For the first nine months of 2025, the company reported operating revenue of nearly 836 billion VND, unchanged from the same period in 2024. After deducting expenses and taxes, FPTS recorded a post-tax profit of nearly 269 billion VND, a decrease of over 34% compared to the same period in 2024.
