This week's fuel price adjustment cycle occurred one day early because tomorrow's scheduled adjustment (1/1/2026) coincides with the 2026 New Year's Day holiday, as per amended Decree 80 on fuel business management.
Accordingly, RON 95-III gasoline, a popular type in the market, decreased by 90 dong to 18,910 dong per liter. E5 RON 92 also dropped by 280 dong, reaching a new price of 18,430 dong.
Similarly, other oil products also saw reductions compared to the previous adjustment cycle. Specifically, diesel and kerosene each fell to 17,250 dong and 17,690 dong per liter, respectively.
Fuel price changes are as follows:
| Product | New Price | Change |
| RON 95-III Gasoline | 18.910 | - 90 |
| E5 RON 92 Gasoline | 18.430 | - 280 |
| Diesel | 17.250 | - 0 |
| Kerosene | 17.690 | - 10 |
| Fuel oil | 13.340 | - 40 |
Unit: dong/liter or kg, depending on type
Compared to the end of last year, RON 95-III gasoline is currently 1,630 dong lower, and diesel is 1,380 dong lower per liter. Over the past 1.5 months, fuel prices have consistently decreased, helping to reduce input fuel costs for consumers.
However, from a supply perspective, some major distributors reported that continuous price reductions make it difficult for them to balance supply and ensure business efficiency.
E10 gasoline, a biofuel blended with 10% ethanol into mineral gasoline, will be widely distributed nationwide from 1/6/2026. E5 RON 92 gasoline will continue to be used until the end of 2030.
According to a Resolution by the National Assembly Standing Committee, in 2026, the environmental protection tax for gasoline (excluding ethanol) will remain at 2,000 dong per liter. For diesel, fuel oil, and lubricants, it will be 1,000 dong per liter. Lubricating grease will be 1,000 dong per kg, and kerosene 600 dong per liter. These levels are consistent with those applied in 2025.
