Users can directly link their ePass traffic account with the MoMo payment application in one confirmation. Once linked, electronic toll collection fees automatically deduct from the MoMo balance each time a vehicle passes through a toll station. With sufficient account funds, the barrier opens, allowing immediate passage without extra steps.
This integration removes the need for separate traffic applications or periodic deposits into multiple accounts. It also lowers the risk of insufficient funds at toll gates. All travel expenses appear directly on MoMo, alongside other spending like fuel and utility bills, simplifying budget tracking.

MoMo's incentive program and simplified process come as the traffic account conversion deadline rapidly approaches. With just one day left until 31/12, many vehicle owners still need to link their ePass or VETC accounts with a cashless payment method. Delays can disrupt passage at ETC stations, particularly during the year-end peak, when personal travel and freight transport demands rise.
The Vietnam Road Administration mandates that over 6 million oto using the electronic toll collection system connect to a valid payment account. This regulation aims to ensure smooth traffic, reduce congestion, and boost ETC system efficiency. However, despite long-term communication, many users haven't complied, citing concerns about complex procedures, managing an extra traffic account, or remembering regular top-ups to avoid low balances.

A MoMo representative noted that integrating traffic accounts into familiar payment platforms, like MoMo, is a popular choice. This approach eases the "management burden" of multiple accounts and creates a seamless experience for payments and expense tracking.
To encourage early conversion, MoMo offers a fuel discount of up to 100,000 dong for linking traffic accounts before 3/1/2026. Experts suggest these incentives prompt quicker adoption, easing pressure on the ETC system during peak times.
Ahead of the 31/12 deadline, authorities urge vehicle owners to properly complete traffic account conversion. This ensures regulatory compliance, guarantees continuous, safe passage through electronic toll collection stations, and minimizes unnecessary risks.
