FPT Telecommunications Joint Stock Company (FPT Telecom) recently announced documents for its extraordinary general meeting of shareholders 2025, scheduled for 24/12. The company will present to shareholders a proposal to elect three additional members to its board of directors (BOD), following the resignations of Tran Thi Hong Linh and Phan The Thanh in July.
Among the nominees is Nguyen Trong Trung, deputy general director of Gelex and general director of Gelex Electric. Mr. Trung also serves as a senior advisor to Global Technology and Telecommunications Corporation (Gtel), an enterprise under the Ministry of Public Security.
Born in 1982, Nguyen Trong Trung holds a bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was appointed general director of Gelex Electric, a subsidiary of Gelex, in March this year. Previously, in January 2024, he assumed the position of deputy general director of Gelex.

The two other nominees for FPT Telecom's BOD are: Vo Manh Cuong, director of Gtel Telecommunications Services Center, and Nguyen Hoang Linh, general director of FPT Telecom.
The company also plans to dismiss Do Xuan Phuc, a member of the Supervisory Board. The nominee to replace him is Luu Nguyen Kim Thoa, head of Gtel's Finance and Accounting Department.
FPT Telecom was founded in January 1997, initially as an online service center established by four founders, launching Vietnam's first Internet network product named "Tri Tue Viet Nam – TTVN". The company is currently a top provider of telecommunications and Internet services in the market.
In mid-July, the Ministry of Public Security took over the state capital ownership representation rights at FPT Telecom from State Capital Investment Corporation (SCIC). Previously, SCIC held 50,2% of FPT Telecom's capital, while FPT Group held 45,7%. FPT remains FPT Telecom's parent company.
For the first nine months, FPT Telecom achieved 14.287 billion VND in revenue, an increase of 12%. Pre-tax profit reached 3.228 billion VND, up 21%, completing 77% of its annual plan.
