Initially, the Gen Z winner did not believe the jackpot notification received via text message and asked his mother to verify the news reports.
After reading news about a ticket winning nearly 80 billion VND on the evening of 10/4, he logged back into the Vietlott application, which confirmed his win. "When the information was certain, my family was overwhelmed with joy", he shared.
After paying personal income tax, the Gen Z winner received about 71 billion VND. He plans to deposit the money in a bank for six to twelve months before deciding how to wisely use the substantial sum.
Over approximately nine years of operation, Vietlott has awarded nearly one billion US dollars in prizes to customers, averaging over 2,800 billion VND annually. Currently, Vietlott's distribution system includes more than 6,620 point-of-sale terminals for direct ticket sales and four million registered accounts for phone-based participation.
According to its newly announced plan, 2026 marks the first year Vietlott aims for revenue exceeding 10,000 billion VND since 2016. This target represents average daily sales of about 30 billion VND, nine times the figure from ten years ago.
The phone-based ticket sales channel is projected to contribute 6,030 billion VND, accounting for over 55% of total revenue. Approximately 4,760 billion VND is expected from terminal distribution, with a small remainder from financial revenue.
Vietlott is a state-owned enterprise, with the Ministry of Finance representing 100% of its capital. The company currently offers seven self-selected lottery products, including matrix, sequence, and quick-draw games.
