On the afternoon of 7/7, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bar prices at 147 million to 150 million VND per tael, a decrease of one million VND compared to the morning's opening. Overall, over two days, the precious metal's selling price fell by approximately 1.4 million VND. Other businesses quoted similar prices for this gold type as SJC.
The buy-sell spread remains around three million VND per tael among companies.
For gold rings, SJC adjusted its price list for plain gold rings four times from opening to early afternoon. Currently, SJC quotes each tael of this gold at 146.7 million to 149.7 million VND. This level is 1.2 million VND lower than yesterday's closing price.
PNJ and DOJI listed this item 300,000 VND higher than SJC, ranging from 147 million to 150 million VND. Bao Tin Minh Chau and Bao Tin Manh Hai traded plain gold rings at 146 million to 149.5 million VND per tael.
Domestic gold prices decreased in line with declining international prices. This afternoon, each ounce of world gold fell by nearly 35 USD compared to the morning, reaching 4,129 USD. Converted using the Vietcombank exchange rate, the international gold price is equivalent to 131 million VND per tael. Thus, domestic gold maintains a 19 million VND premium over international prices.
The market declined due to a strengthening USD and 10-year US Treasury yields reaching a two-week high. Additionally, investors await the minutes from the US Federal Reserve's (Fed) June meeting for clearer guidance on monetary policy direction.
Matt Simpson, a senior analyst at StoneX, stated that this week's gold price correction is normal after last week's rally. "The market currently lacks clear drivers, and liquidity is also low", he said.
Silver bar and bullion prices decreased by 2.1% compared to yesterday. Phu Quy, DOJI, and Ancarat jointly listed this metal at 2.29 million to 2.36 million VND per tael, equivalent to 61.1 million to 63.1 million VND per kilogram.
