At 10h on 19/6, Saigon Jewelry Company (SJC) listed gold bar prices at 144,3 - 147,3 million dong, down 4,5 million dong for buying and 4 million dong for selling compared to yesterday's close.
Plain gold rings at SJC also saw a similar drop, reaching 144,2 - 147,2 million dong per tael. Mi Hong lowered plain ring prices to 144,3 - 146 million dong. This morning, plain rings at SJC and DOJI traded at 144,3 - 147,3 million dong per tael.
The price of the precious metal on the international market is currently down to 4,175 USD per ounce. Converted at Vietcombank's selling rate, this is equivalent to over 133 million dong per tael (excluding taxes and fees). The difference between domestic and international gold prices this morning rose to 14,5 million dong per tael.
The market is under pressure from a strengthening dollar and signals of monetary tightening from the US Federal Reserve (Fed). However, the decline is not too sharp, as the peace agreement between the US and Iran has driven crude oil prices lower, easing inflation concerns.
