Herbalife strengthens sustainable development cooperation in Vietnam

Herbalife engages in dialogues with various ministries, sponsors the US-ASEAN Business Council's innovation and sustainable development exhibition, and promotes nutrition and sports collaboration in Vietnam.

Herbalife's recent engagements in Vietnam were part of a US-ASEAN Business Council (USABC) business delegation's visit, coinciding with the 250th anniversary of the United States' founding.

From April 13-17, Julian Cacchioli, Herbalife's Vice President of Government Affairs for EMEA, India, and Asia-Pacific, joined representatives from several US corporations in a series of high-level meetings. The delegation met with officials from Vietnam's Ministry of Health, Ministry of Industry and Trade, National Assembly, and Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, culminating in a meeting with the Prime Minister.

Beyond these dialogues, Herbalife also played a significant role as a gold sponsor for the USABC-organized Innovation and Sustainable Development Dialogue and the 250th anniversary of the United States' founding celebration. At the event, the company highlighted its global commitment to sustainable practices, encompassing responsible business, digital transformation, and community initiatives. Herbalife representatives emphasized that sustainable development forms the bedrock for long-term value creation across its operations in 95 markets.

During its dialogue with the Ministry of Health, Herbalife underscored the importance of science-based nutrition for proactive healthcare and improving quality of life. This approach aligns with Vietnam's increasing demand for health and wellness solutions.

In meetings with the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the National Assembly, and the Government, Herbalife affirmed its commitment to ongoing strategic dialogues with regulatory bodies. The company also expressed its dedication to fostering a transparent and sustainable business environment in Vietnam.

Following the USABC program, Herbalife held a bilateral working session with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. Ministry representatives recognized the nearly 15-year partnership, highlighting Herbalife's evolution from a sponsor to a key collaborator in sports development and community initiatives.

For many years, Herbalife has provided nutritional support to national sports teams and athletes competing in major events like the SEA Games, ASIAD, Olympic, and Paralympic. The company also actively promotes grassroots sports and raises public health awareness.

During the working session, both parties discussed a nationwide program to encourage regular physical activity. Herbalife expressed its desire to continue supporting public health initiatives.

Discussions also covered potential cooperation between Herbalife and the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to provide career guidance for athletes post-retirement.

Julian Cacchioli affirmed Vietnam's status as a key market for Herbalife in the region. He reiterated the company's long-term commitment to initiatives focused on nutrition, sports, and sustainable development, ultimately aiming to enhance the quality of life for Vietnamese citizens.
