BiboWatch, developed by Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group (VNPT), combines a wearable smartwatch with an integrated phone SIM and mobile data. It addresses the need for remote connection and management of children. Through a dedicated phone application, parents can track their child's journey, communicate directly, and receive real-time safety alerts.
Smart positioning is a key feature of the BiboWatch. The device utilizes a combination of GPS, wi-fi, and location based service (LBS) to pinpoint a child's location, even indoors or in areas with weak GPS signals. Parents can view their child's current location and review their movement history to understand their daily activities.

The geo-fence (safe zone) feature allows parents to establish familiar areas, such as home, school, grandparents' house, or extracurricular centers, within the application. When a child enters or exits these predefined areas, the system sends notifications to the parents' phone. This feature helps parents proactively monitor their child's schedule, including arrival at school, dismissal, or any deviation from their planned route.
Beyond positioning, BiboWatch prioritizes communication between parents and children. The smartwatch supports two-way voice and video calls, as well as sending and receiving text messages, voice messages, and images. Parents manage the contact list and can block calls from unknown numbers, limiting unwanted interactions.
Compared to smartphones, which offer numerous applications, BiboWatch focuses on functions essential for child connection and safety. Its positioning, communication, and alert features are integrated into a single wearable device. This allows children to use it without constant exposure to various smartphone applications.
By combining a smartwatch, a phone SIM, and VNPT's management platform, BiboWatch aims to support parents as their children explore and grow. The device is priced from 1.19 million dong, depending on the version.
