Tennessee-based IMC Logistics is set to open a container transportation facility in Toronto, marking the company's first expansion outside US territory.
Joel Henry, chief executive officer of IMC, announced on 5/3: "This expansion aims to better support Canadian import and export businesses diversifying their supply chains to remain competitive. Increased container volumes help IMC strengthen relationships with existing customers and capitalize on new growth opportunities."
IMC is finalizing the lease for the new facility. Initially, the company plans to utilize its existing fleet and supplement capacity from partners as needed. "We are also exploring potential acquisitions to rapidly expand our fleet in Toronto," Henry stated. The Toronto facility is expected to be operational in Quarter II/2026.
IMC currently operates 48 facilities across North America, including the new Toronto site.

Prior to this, the company's most recent expansion was the opening of a facility in Mobile, Alabama, in 10/2025.
Unlike the Toronto site, the Mobile facility is company-owned. IMC acquired a 12-acre parcel of land, constructing a 3,300-square-foot office and a 24/7 secure container yard with capacity for approximately 500 containers. Blake Lamparter manages this office.
IMC is also finalizing upgrades to its Newark, New Jersey facility. The container yard there has been renovated with new concrete and the installation of lifting equipment for stacking empty and loaded containers. The warehouse at this facility is complete and operational.
The company is currently continuing construction of a new office area to complete the entire renovation process at the Newark facility.
